MOONBOW RESTORATION

Moonbow House is a locally significant cottage in the Sutherland Shire, standing as an intact example of early 20th century residential building. The project was about a small scope of restorative works to rectify unsympathetic alterations and additions to the Federation Period Style home.

Originally built as a pair with its neighbour, the design improves visibility of the home at street level with new landscaping and courtyard fencing. The original roof line including the verandah is re-defined with the replacement of matching traditional windows and cladding. Later additions with an awkward bay window are re-cladded and detailed to highlight woodwork features representing the Federation Style and finished with a neutral colour scheme.
