TWO HALVES HOUSE

Two Halves House was about repurposing an old cottage by adding an open plan addition to the rear. The hipped roof addition with lean-to verandah wrapping along two sides, is proportioned and detailed in keeping with the original 1920’s cottage style.

The additions are sited intentionally to capture the surrounding escarpment and overlook a semi above ground pool and deck. This arrangement helps manage the tricky cross fall of the site and creates a level outdoor terrace and kids play area using minimal retaining. The cottage and outdoor areas are surrounded by native planting creating privacy along the secondary frontage.
